S’YTE Recruits Manga Artist Junji Ito For Upcoming Collaboration

Yohji Yamamoto‘s online exclusive brand S’YTE announces its second collaboration with Junji Ito, the mysterious manga artist known for his unique horror aesthetic. Designed by Yohji Yamamoto’s creative team, the collection fuses Junji Ito’s aesthetics and Yohji Yamamoto’s iconic designs to produce a refined collection of monochromatic oversized pieces.
The latest collection features a range of collages depicting various scenes from Ito’s renowned horror manga series Uzumaki and exclusive illustrations of its characters Kirie Goshima and Azami Kurotani wearing Yohji Yamamoto’s outfits from his latest collection. Bringing the Junji Ito experience into the world of fashion, the diffusion label aims to produce affordable iterations of the Japanese master’s signature silhouettes, an accessible way for fans of the brand to acquire Yamamoto’s flowing balloon pants and shirting.
The latest collaborative collection and Junji Ito’s compilation art book, BEST OF BEST, will be available at THE SHOP YOHJI YAMAMOTO from 12:00 JST on Thursday, December 12.
