Stormzy Taps Headie One for Gritty New Single & Visual "Audacity" (UPDATE)
The tracklist for ‘Heavy Is The Head’ has been revealed.
UPDATE: The tracklist for Stormzy upcoming project Heavy is the Crown has officially surfaced. The 16-track album, which is expected to arrive tomorrow, will feature artists such as Ed Sheeran, H.E.R., Burna Boy, and more. Apple Music notes that “the album sees Stormzy lay himself bare on a record that reckons with the pressures of fame and the weight of expectation that befalls a young man ordained spokesperson for his generation.”
ORIGINAL STORY (12/11/2019): Just days before the release of his highly-anticipated sophomore project Heavy Is The Head, Stormzy has shared a brand new single and video alongside Headie One titled “Audacity.” Continuing to usher in his gritty take on the UK’s ever-expanding grime scene, the new single remains a heavy-handed entourage of hot-laced bars from both rappers.
The video helps in portraying both artist’s murky tendencies, offering up a cinematic tour de force of heavily color-graded shots that show them rapping around mounds of fire, riding trucks on eerie highways, and more. Stormzy concludes the powerful track and visual with the line “When Banksy put the vest on me, felt like God was testing me,” referencing his historic Glastonbury performance earlier this summer as the first-ever Black artist to headline the festival.
You can watch the video for “Audacity” above. Heavy Is The Head arrives this Friday, December 13, via #MERKY/Atlantic Records.
