Futuristic in style and comfortable in construction, Nike‘s Air Max 270 React has grown into a popular lifestyle silhouette during its first year on the market, and now size? has readied an exclusive “Dragonfly” colorway. With hues and materials inspired by the hovering insect’s body, this 270 React provides a highly detailed look.
Thanks to its seamless construction, the upper proffers a free-flowing mentality with each layer telling a story. The translucent TPE base is dressed in an ever-so-soft blue, while a flat seafoam green appears on the toe and eyestays. Signature details then arrive by way of iridescent overlays that wrap around the upper and come to roost on the bold tongue — which itself is splashed in shimmering silver. This provides a clever nod to a dragonfly’s beating wings and elongated body, while a white Swoosh and various pops of orange add branded flair.
Comfort is just as important as looks here, and it’s provided by a duo of popular cushioning technologies. The heel borrows the Air Max 270‘s sizable cushioning unit, with the midfoot and forefoot taking on soft and springy React foam. Traction is provided by a semi-translucent green outsole with rivets for extra grip.
The size?-exclusive Nike Air Max 270 React “Dragonfly” will release on the size? website and in select retail locations come December 27, with an MSRP of £140 GBP (approximately $182 USD).
Nike recently reached into its extensive archive to pull out the Air Streak Lite, a low-slung running shoe from 1995 that’s seeing its first ever retro release.
