Nike‘s popular React Element 55 has surfaced in a new “Schematic” colorway. Expounding on the process-to-product ethos we saw earlier this year from the Air Max 1‘s “Schematic” and “Sketch To Shelf” styles — which drew from the legendary Tinker Hatfield‘s design procedures/illustrations — this new makeup features bold technical embellishments that get at the meaning behind its construction.
Uppers are crafted of a lightweight synthetic mesh, which takes on a crisp white hue and presents tonal white Swooshes. This airy base is quickly accented in bold fashion by a plethora of stark black details. A smaller black outlined Swoosh with a sharper curve overlays its full-size counterpart on the lateral side, while the medial side offers a single black-trimmed Swoosh graphic with a line cutting through its curve.
Hexagon graphics are placed on each toebox, while black grids run both under the eyestays and across the heel’s taped seams. Finishing touches of detail are provided by further shapes and small black embroidered Swooshes on the heel, plus printed insoles. Down below, a cored-out React foam midsole with black plugs completes the look and provides signature soft comfort.
The Nike React Element 55 “Schematic” is available now at retailers like Titolo, with a MSRP of $130 USD.
