'Parasite,' 'Joker,' Beyoncé & Pharrell Shortlisted for 2020 Oscars
The 92nd Academy Awards takes place February 2020.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has revealed the Oscars shortlists for nine other categories in the 92nd Academy Awards.
Film contenders include Bong Joon-ho‘s Cannes winner Parasite for International Film Feature, Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix‘s Joker for Makeup and Hairstyling and Music (Original Score) and Avengers: Endgame for Visual Effects, while individuals including Beyoncé, Pharrell, Thom Yorke and Elton John are battling it out in the Music (Original Song) category for their works on The Lion King, The Black Godfather, Motherless Brooklyn and Rocketman respectively.
According to Variety, 15 of 159 submitted films were selected in the Documentary Feature category, 10 of 69 in the Documentary Short Subject category, 10 of 91 in the International Film Feature category, 15 of 170 eligible scores in the Music (Original Score) category, 15 of 75 eligible scores in the Music (Original Song) category, 10 of 92 qualified films in the Animated Short Film category and 10 of 191 qualified films in the Live Action Short Film category.
Oscar nominations voting runs from January 2 to January 7, 2020. The complete list of nominees will be announced on January 13 and final voting will begin on January 30 until February 4, while the awards ceremony will premiere on February 9.
