As Vince Carter plays in his record 22nd NBA season, Nike‘s classic Shox BB4 has been brought back in several colorways to accompany the man that first made it famous, the latest of which is this “University Gold.” In some ways, the style is a simple retrospective of Carter’s Hall of Fame career: the silhouette was introduced when he was a high-flying youngster with the Toronto Raptors, but the new colorway is in line with his current team, the Atlanta Hawks.

Featuring a 5/8 cut and plenty of sharply angled design lines, this Shox BB4 combines a textured yellow synthetic material with a black nubuck for a two-piece base layer with a bit of Wu-Tang Clan-esuqe style. More yellow accents and Nike Shox iconography are then sprinkled around to add texture. A jet black plastic heel plate features the shoe’s only Swoosh motifs, and sits right above the four hollow EVA columns that provide both the silhouette’s moniker and its signature support system. Each is ringed with a yellow band, and a yellow/black outsole finalizes the look.

The Nike Shox BB4 “University Gold” is available now on Nike.com. The MSRP is set at $160 USD.

Elsewhere in the world of Nike, the brand just announced a new SuperRep footwear line, designed specifically for fitness classes.
