Freddie Gibbs and Madlib Perform Soulful Set on Tiny Desk Concert
Hailed by NPR as the “best Tiny Desk of the year.”

Following a teaser post on Instagram earlier this week, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib‘s performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series dropped on Friday. Gibbs showcased his flawless flow while Madlib opted for vintage electric bongos to produce his famed beats. The duo performed a medley of songs off their collaborative album Bandana, including versions of “Education,” “Gat Damn,” “Soul Right,” and “Freestyle Sh*t.”
MADGIBBS also brought on the El Michaels Affair–a funk band from New York–resulting in one memorable live set. “It was hands down, for me, the best Tiny Desk of the year,” wrote NPR’s Abby O’ Neil in the article. The news outlet revealed that bringing all of the talent together took almost a year to execute, but it appears it was well worth the wait. Watch the full set in the video above.
