A$AP Nast and Converse have readied a collection centered around the Jack Purcell Mid, and the collaborative partners are turning the heat up with bold traditional flame graphics. Nast and Converse have worked on everything from One Stars to Chuck 70s in the past, but the mid-top Jack Purcell appears to be the two’s silhouette of choice — this marks a second effort with the modified classic after an outdoors-themed capsule collection that released in March.
Arriving in a ripe “Cherry Tomato” and a menacing “Black/Silver,” each pair uses its midfoot flame graphic in a different fashion. The “Cherry Tomato” equips its reddish-orange base with a shimmering red flame graphic, providing a vivid style. On the other hand, the “Black/Silver” opts for a look that’s much more stark, using a flat silver flame hit made of hi-vis reflective material on its pitch-black bottom layer. Each upper is constructed of corduroy for further old-school flair.
Although the flames are unquestionably the center of the show, there’s other special details to be had as well. Special Nast branding appears on each insole and a large debossed star graphic is present on the heel. Both styles are secured by a black rubber toe cap, and finalized by a baby blue outsole. There’s also a duo of co-branded T-shirts: a yellow long-sleeve and black short-sleeve, each with a burning graphic on the front and “Playing with Fire Since 1990” text hit on the back.
The ASAP Nast x Converse Jack Purcell Mid collection will release on December 5 at retailers like Solebox. The MSRP is set at €120 EUR (approximately $133 USD) for the shoes, €45 EUR (approximately $50 USD) for the long-sleeve tee and €40 EUR (approximately $40 USD) for the short-sleeve tee.
Elsewhere in the world of Converse, size? recently gave the Chuck 70 a customizable spin by way of a new “Multipatch” style.
