Ahead of its highly anticipated arrival later this month, we’re taking a closer look at adidas‘s new UltraBOOST 20 in “Core Black/Blue Violet Metallic.” With space-age style and high-performance tech aplenty, the silhouette is a step in a bold new direction for the popular UltraBOOST line.
Debuted in partnership with the International Space Station’s U.S. National Lab, this UltraBOOST 20 offers a flexible black Primeknit upper that uses a new Tailored Fiber Placement technique to ensure an accurate fit for all foot types. Extra support is provided by a TPU midfoot cage and heel clip, both of which offer shades of the UltraBOOST 19‘s construction for a touch of familiarity. The full-length BOOST midsole offers signature soft foam technology and a bold pop of style, thanks to a shimmering iridescent finish that mixes purple and blue hues. Moving all the way to the ground, a Continental rubber outsole with Stretchweb technology ensures a responsive feel to go along with the comfortable fit. The construction was inspired by a space shuttle, and it’s easy to see why: each piece provides a unique purpose.
International Space Station branding interwoven with an adidas logo appears on the tongue badge, and more co-branded graphics grace the insole. Although the pair pictured arrived in a silver space case, this is special packaging reserved for media kits — the general release version will arrive in a standard adidas box.
You’ll be able to catch the UltraBOOST 20 on adidas.com come December 6 for an MSRP of $180 USD, so check out a detailed gallery of images above and a video below while you wait.
Elsewhere in the world of adidas, a store list was recently announced for the global release of the YEEZY BOOST 380 “Alien.”
