After recently debuting a new Rhisu Run silhouette, Y-3 is following up with its latest take on adidas‘ 4D tech: a fresh iteration of the Y-3 Runner 4D. Drawing its inspiration from the Y-3 Yuto and Y-3 Tenet, the futuristic style features plenty of unique embellishments across its pitch-black upper.

Both the lateral and medial midfoot feature a diamond-patterned plastic “cage” as a nod to the aforementioned Tenet, the first-ever collaborative silhouette created by Yohji Yamamoto and adidas. This futuristic, industrial style is offset by leather overlays on the forefoot and midfoot —- the former of which presents Yamamoto’s signature embroidered in white thread, while the latter equips debossed Y-3 branding.

A full-foot adidas 4D cushioning system, printed using the brand’s patented Digital Light Synthesis tech sports a recognizable mint green hue, providing a calm contrast to the imposing upper. It’s more than just looks too: the latticed structure ensures a springy blend of comfort and support. A black Continental rubber outsole then completes the look.

Expect the Fall/Winter 2019 Y-3 Runner 4D to release on Y-3’s site and adidas’ web store on December 10. No retail price has been confirmed yet but the MSRP on past Y-3 Runner 4D sneakers generally reached $600 USD.

Elsewhere in the world of the Three Stripes, adidas Basketball has revived its classic Pro Model 2G.
