Looking back to 1998 for inspiration, adidas Originals has crafted a new-yet-familiar silhouette dubbed the FYW 98. A nearly picture-perfect replica of the memorable adidas EQT Solution that debuted that very year, the FYW 98 is a celebration of all things adidas in the late ’90s, and is presented in a striking mix of OG colors.
Swooping and soaring design lines on the upper give off an air of great speed. This inherently fast look is echoed further by the sporty color combination. Bright red and dark blue meshes serve as the base, while crisp white leather appears on the overlays and pops of volt are dispersed around various branded accents. The shoe’s signature detail then arrives on the medial midfoot, which presents an abstract Three Stripe graphic: three elongated navy ovals surrounded by white EVA foam.
Detailing doesn’t stop up top either. The heavily textured midsole utilizes adiPRENE foam cushioning for comfort and places a red/blue plastic shank under the arch for support. Things are grounded both literally and figuratively by a multi-colored outsole that presents a veritable slew of traction patterns. OG FYW graphics on both the outsole/insole complete the look.
The adidas FYW 98 is available now at adidas UK. The MSRP is set at £90 GBP (approximately $121 USD).
