As the holiday season approaches, 40s & Shorties has released its seasonal collection featuring Angus Cloud of HBO’s Euphoria series. The brand draws inspiration from the ’90s and early 2000s to revamp classic silhouettes with original design cues. Covering the basics, the Holiday 2019 collection includes a range of graphic-heavy T-shirts, long sleeves and hoodies, along with playfully printed outerwear pieces and accessories.
Highlights of the collection include a Commando Vest with an all-over leopard pattern, a varsity jacket sporting multiple patches and a “Coming Soon” hoodie with tie-dye rib detailing. Adorning T-shirts are humorous designs, such as “Mr. Steal Your Girl” graphics and a photograph of Barack Obama covered with the phrase “Break Glass If Sh*t Gets Real.” Elsewhere, rugby shirts, striped tees and sweatpants emphasize the stylistic influences from earlier decades. Continuing with the brand’s ’90s inspiration, embroidered hats, brightly colored bags and printed socks round out the collection.
40s & Shorties’ range of Holiday 2019 apparel and accessories showcase the brand’s “counter-culture attitude,” as the entire collection is brought together with stripes, plaid and bold graphics that reference nostalgic prints and designs. The lookbook’s combination of film and Polaroid photos further captures the raw nature and wistfulness of an era.
