Yung Lean Slows Things Down With New Melancholy-Fueled Track, "Blue Plastic" (UPDATE)
Produced by Gud.
UPDATE (November 7, 2019): Yung Lean has also dropped an accompanying music video for his new Gud-produced track directed by Suzie & Leo. Catch the visual for “Blue Plastic” above.
ORIGINAL STORY (November 6, 2019): After teaming up with Wondha Mountain on “Divine Madness,” Yung Lean is back with a new melancholy-fueled track, titled “Blue Plastic.”
Produced by Sad Boys member Gud, the slowed-down track is centered around a simple drum rhythm paired with a flowing synth pattern that complements Lean’s subdued vocal styling perfectly. Throughout the track, Lean touches on themes of isolation and loneliness with lines like “Everyone’s got ideas, but they’re all wrong/Nobody wants to get it, but they’re all foretold.” Ultimately, the Swedish artist falls victim to his own demons finishing the track with the ominous lines “I exposed myself, I’m done, I’m down/I’m done, I’m down.”
