Lil Durk & 21 Savage Revisit 'Love Songs 4 The Streets 2' for New "Die Slow" Video
Directed by Rock Davis.
Back in August, Lil Durk released the follow-up to his 2017 project Love Songs 4 The Streets. Fittingly-titled Love Songs 4 the Streets 2, Durk’s latest tape delivered 16 new tracks to fans, including collaborations with Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Key Glock, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and more. Continuing to support and promote that project, the Chicago star is following up last month’s clip for “Bora Bora” by introducing a Rock Davis-helmed visual for Love Songs 4 the Streets 2‘s ChopsquadDJ-produced, 21 Savage-assisted highlight “Die Slow.”
“When I make music, I wanna be ahead of my time .. how the culture going right now — a lot of people dying. So it’s like, I just had that mentality and just put it in a song,” Lil Durk shared during his recent mini-documentary The Making of Love Songs For the Streets 2, breaking down the purpose, themes and overall creative direction of his latest studio project. “I want to relate. I don’t want to just rap and go to the next album. I really want you to feel it and call me and be like, ‘Man, this is getting me through the day.’ … It’s like real moody music. My message is just showing people how I came from nothing.”
“You got to separate yourself. What makes you different than him? You guys rap about the same stuff,” Durk adds. “I don’t throw shade at anybody like, ‘You sound like me.’ I get a feeling about it. Like damn, I like this shit and I’m doing good. Now it’s time to separate me from them.”
