SpongeBob SquarePants & Santa Cruz Skateboards Present Collaborative Decks

After appearing on everything from Nike shoes to Modernica chairs for his 20th anniversary, SpongeBob SquarePants is now headed to skateboards thanks to a full capsule collection with West Coast mainstay Santa Cruz. Consisting of eight decks with co-branded graphics, the SpongeBob x Santa Cruz collection is extremely collectable in style and inherently skatable in nature.

The offerings are centered around a a cruiser deck that sees SpongeBob sheepishly grinning while hanging over the Santa Cruz logo, trapped in one of his usual predicaments with his underwear stuck to the top of the board. Another design shows a snickering character profile on a pink background and another is covered in burgers for a nod to the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob’s beloved place of employment.

Two styles bring his best friend Patrick Star into the mix: one presents a graphic of the dynamic duo riding jellyfish, the other proffers a branded hit that shows the show’s Bikini Bottom location, signature print and a portrait of the two pals arm-in-arm. There’s even a deck with a portrait of Captain, the gruff buccaneer with a parrot on his shoulder who sings the show’s theme song at the opening of every episode.

Although 3/4 of the offerings pull directly from the beloved cartoon, there are two art-centric styles as well. One shows a trippy mural graphic with yellow, red and orange hues, and the other fuses SpongeBob’s porous yellow body with Santa Cruz Skateboards‘ signature screaming hand graphic for a clever logo flip.

All eight decks will release at The Canteen on Friday, November 8. Prices range from $59.99 USD to $64.99 USD.

Elsewhere, Palace’s Juventus x adidas Football collaboration is set to drop this week.
