Take a Closer Look at Two Region-Exclusive Louis Vuitton LV 408 Trainer Hi Colorways

After Virgil Abloh‘s recent announcement of nine region-exclusive Louis Vuitton LV 408 Trainer Hi colorways, we now have a look at the “New York” and “Chicago” makeups. True to Abloh’s interpolative design style, they blend Louis Vuitton‘s high-end luxury materials with a street-ready feel, one that borrows heavily from heritage basketball silhouettes.
Crafted in Italy by LV’s skilled cobblers, each shoe is made up of 106 components and was painstakingly put together over the course of six hours. A familiar grey, black and white palette that’s identical to the LV Trainer 408’s original launch colorway serves as the base, with embellishment provided by details like a 408 hit on the collar and a gold foil stamp on the midfoot.
However, each shows regional ties by way of its special accents. These appear on both the laces and the harness that holds the monogrammed LV luggage tag in place on the collar’s strap. The New York pair opts for a Yankees-style dark navy blue, while the Chicago-themed pair seems to look to the Bears for its blaze orange embellishments.
The New York pair will release on November 25, while the Chicago iteration is set to follow on December 4. Apart from these two styles, there are also colorways for Paris, Milan, London, Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo.
