After recruiting Brooklyn-based graffiti artist Eric Haze for its new Brooklyn flagship store, HUF has returned with a collaborative collection with another calligraphist and graffiti-writer, Ricardo González aka It’s A Living. Ranging from classic T-shirts and long sleeves to limited-edition skate decks, the capsule highlights González’s signature “drip-script” letterform through collaborative branding and the artist’s iconic phrases.
Originally from Durango, Mexico, González developed an early passion for hand-lettering as a calligraphist and graffiti-writer, further advancing his career in graphic design in Brooklyn under the pseudonym It’s A Living. The collection’s stand-out pieces are 10 hand-painted skate decks featuring González’s slogan “Downhill From Here,” which will be sold exclusively online. Other highlights include the Downhill Tie Dye Tee, which draws inspiration from the artist’s gradient work and color blending, and monochromatic hoodies that sport embroidered “HUF” branding in González’s recognizable script.
Retailing between $30 USD to $200 USD, the It’s A Living x HUF collection is available now on HUF’s website and at its New York and Los Angeles store locations. To celebrate the launch, HUF will be hosting a special event at its Brooklyn store from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight.
