HAIM Celebrates Their Sisterhood in New Single "Hallelujah"
Co-produced by Danielle Haim, Ariel Rechtshaid & Rostam Batmanglij.
HAIM has dropped off their latest single “Hallelujah” with yet another Paul Thomas Anderson-directed visual following “Now I’m In It.” If their previous singled touched on depression, the sisters’ newest offering — co-produced by middle sister Danielle with Ariel Rechtshaid and ex-Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij — is a hopeful take on how their sisterly bond has and will always overcome all their personal lives.
The three sisters took to Twitter to share each of their reflections of the single, with Danielle voicing her appreciation of her sisters/bandmates, Este’s ongoing struggle with Type 1 diabetes and Alana’s loss of her best friend. “My verse is about our relationship as sisters. that feeling of knowing what your sibling is gonna do or say before they do it,” Danielle wrote. “Sibling telepathy is a real thing!!!!”
Este followed, “i wrote my verse a few days after i’d gotten some pretty terrible news from my endocrinologist…. i came home from the doctor super upset and frustrated and the only two people i felt comfortable enough to talk about it with were danielle and alana. this song is for anyone struggling with chronic illness and the people around us who we truly rely on for help and guidance.”
Finally, Alana opened up about her late best friend Sammi Kane Kraft. “I’m not the same, I’ll never be the same. The me before took love, friends and family for granted,” she said. “Now there won’t be a day that goes by where i don’t tell everyone i love how special they are to me.”

Elsewhere in music, Soccer Mommy has unveiled “yellow is the color of her eyes” with a short film.
