WACKO MARIA and Tim Lehi Bolster Vivid Prints in Exclusive FW19 Capsule
From Vietnamese flight jackets to Western shirts.
Rolling off the previous Tim Lehi-commissioned drop, WACKO MARIA has rejoined the artist for another round of bold layering pieces. This time, the duo have whipped up a vibrant capsule that’s exclusive to the label’s flagship store PARADISE TOKYO.
From flight to Western-style jackets, the capsule includes a range of bold prints and motifs emblazoned over brown, burgundy, indigo and black palettes. One noteworthy piece is the Vietnamese flight jacket embroidered with artwork by tattoo artist and frequent collaborator Tim Lehi. Two highly detailed tiger heads are placed at the front upper chest, complemented by a full illustration of the tiger over the sleeves. The motifs have been sewn over a delicate burgundy-tinged velvet fabric that’s contrasted by silver-toned hardware. Another highlight in the capsule is the denim jacket modeled after a Western shirt. Coming in colors of indigo, black and maroon, crisp white piping curve along the upper chest, back and cuffs, while its raw denim base gives the piece a sleek finish. Rounding up the capsule are three Hawaiian shirts glossed in classic polka dot patterns as final notes to the vintage-inspired range.
The WACKO MARIA “PARADISE TOKYO” capsule will be available exclusively at the label’s flagship store in Higashiyama, Tokyo on October 26.
