Take a Look at How Porsche's All-Electric Taycan Is Made
A 750 horsepower racer.
Porsche has just published a mesmerizing video of how its fully-electric Taycan sports car is made in the new wing of the company’s main plant in Zuffenhausen, German.
The video showcases the entire production line in the plant, and follows the Taycan from its body being assembled and painted to the fitting of the internals, and finally to quality checks and performance testing. 30 minutes long, the eye-opening clip gives viewers a closer look at how things are done at Porsche, in a combination of automated and human processes.
In case you missed it, the Porsche Taycan is the German automobile company’s first full-electric production vehicle. Available in both Turbo and Turbo S models, the former is packed with 670 horsepower whilst the latter is given an impressive boost to a whopping 750 horsepower. Using 800 volt systems instead of the more common 400 volt systems, the Taycan models can reach 80 percent charge in just 23 minutes, and can travel around 280 miles per single charge.
For the sports car fans out there, the Taycan Turbo will be available for $150,900 USD, and the Taycan Turbo S for $185,000 USD, both arriving later this year.
