NOAH's Joan, Grace and Sinead Tees Feature the Visages of Three Female Music Legends
Joan Jett, Grace Jones, and Sinead O’Connor are front and center.
NOAH has released a trifecta of short-sleeve tees that pay homage to three female music legends: Joan Jett, Grace Jones and Sinead O’Connor. Each design presents its respective songstress in a close-up fashion, with a tightly cropped rectangle around their eyes, and adds texture by way of a Ben-Day-style dotted print.
Each tee is made in Honduras and printed in the USA. Jett’s design uses a black base with white accents, while Jones and O’Connor opt for the inverse, using a white tee with black print. Although they’re somewhat uniform in base color, each musician’s shirt presents an alternate NOAH text hit on the back, inspired by the font used on their album covers. Jett’s hit nods to Bad Reputation, O’Connor’s salutes three of her albums — Lion & the Cobra, I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got and Nothing Compares 2 U — while Jones looks to Muse.
Music has always been tremendously influential and important to NOAH’s seasonal offerings. In this year alone the brand has teamed up with rock band Fishbone for a collection centered around anti-racist messages, and also tapped Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong imprint for a capsule. Back in 2017, NOAH teamed up with The Cure for an extensive collaboration that founder Brendon Babenzien described as a “labor of love” in an interview with SSENSE.
All three tees are available at NOAH’s webstore, NY flagship store on Mullberry and Tokyo clubhouse, plus authorized NOAH stockists like Dover Street Market London. Retail is set at $48 USD.
That’s not all for new product from NOAH: it also recently presented two matching sets of paisley-printed loungewear.
