Final Trailer for Netflix's 'The Witcher' Series Focuses on Geralt's Destiny
And how it could envoke a calamity if left ignored.
Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels The Witcher got a final trailer today, showcasing what to expect from the new series. The TV adaptation for one will focus more on the source material of the books rather than the CD Projekt Red games that pushed the series into prominence.
The footage above focuses on Geralt, who is played by Henry Cavill, and everything audiences need to know about him. We get to hear him speak, learn what type of man he is and that his destiny is intertwined with the fate of the world. Co-starring alongside Cavill will be Freya Allan as Ciri, and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer. Despite being solely adapted from the books, however, series showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich made sure to pay homage to Geralt’s moment in the bathtub from The Witcher 3 game, which inspired a popular meme.
Check out the trailer above and watch The Witcher on Netflix when it arrives on December 20.
