After initial rumblings of a re-release began to surface this summer, it’s now been reported that the Nike Dunk Low “Viotech” is set to return this December. A cult-favorite style that first released as a Japan exclusive in 2002 before retro-ing in 2013 and hitting shelves again in GS sizes during 2015, the “Viotech” began to garner mainstream popularity after a sighting on the feet of Virgil Abloh late last year.

Featuring an upper constructed of supple suede and drawing its nom de guerre from the purple on its heel and outsole, this low-cut Nike Dunk also proffers vibrant orange, blue, red, and green tones. This colorful medley is then held together by grey and black detailing on the tongue/throat. A tan Swoosh and white midsole finalize the look. The original 2002 pair is pictured above and the 2013 below, so you can expect the re-release to feature many of the same details, though it remains to be seen if the 2019 iteration will take on the former or the latter’s style of tongue/heel hits.

Apart from Abloh’s public co-sign, the “Viotech” color scheme also boasts a tremendous amount of influence on other designs: it served as inspiration for Air Max 90 “Viotech” and Air Max 90 “Viotech 2.0” styles earlier this year, as well as a size?-exclusive style of the Shox TL. In 2018, some of its signature hues also appeared on Aleali May‘s fur-tongued Air Jordan 1 collaboration.

According to Py_Leaks, the Nike Dunk Low “Viotech” will return on December 10. Of course this is subject to change, but check back here for more info as it’s available. A retail price has not yet been announced, but if you don’t feel like waiting, original pairs are also available now on StockX, with the lowest ask currently at $770 for a ‘02 pair and $395 for a ‘13 pair.
