LEGO Introduces Large Customizable Wooden Figures
Paying tribute to its original product range.
LEGO is paying tribute to the original wooden “minifigure” it first released in 1978 with the release of a limited edition 5:1 upscaled wooden figure. Designed in partnership with Room Copenhagen, the seven-inch-tall piece features an oak body, plastic hands reminiscent of current LEGO figures, and the LEGO logo on top of its head. Those who purchase the figure have the option of leaving it as is or customizing it to fit their interests.
The accompanying gift box includes a 28-page booklet explaining the history of LEGO’s iconic minifigure, as well as a few examples of how LEGO designers personalized their own wooden figures. 29 LEGO bricks are also included for some extra customization options.

This marks the first product to release from LEGO’s new Originals range, which aims to spotlight nostalgic elements of LEGO through design objects.
The LEGO Originals Wooden Minifigure 853967 is currently available for $120 USD at a pop-up in Covent Garden, London, but it will see a global release on November 8.
