Fredo Bang Drops First Single & Video for Def Jam, "Face Down"
Produced by Tay Keith.
Three months after unveiling the emotional music video for the Big Ape single “Dawg Gone,” Fredo Bang is releasing his first official single and visual for Def Jam, “Face Down.” An exercise in emotive, infectious melodies and street-rap’s aggressive, combative lyricism, “Face Down” is a tightly-crafted, polished showcase of some of Fredo Bang’s strongest skills. The single was produced by contemporary hitmaker Tay Keith, while the music video was put together by director Zach Hurth.
“My best friend is the one that introduced me to music and is the reason why I keep making music today. Rapping and writing has been my gateway to peace and happiness,” Fredo Bang explained to HipHopDX earlier this year, opening up about his origins and sharing some insight into his creative process. “The songs I made in jail were easier to make because while I was locked up, I was more in tune with my emotions. Outside I can be more distracted.”

We spotlighted Fredo Bang back in February, labeling him as one the “best music artists on the come up” for a Winter 2019 installment of our New Gen series.
