A Closer Look at Nike's Opulent Air Max 98 "Year of the Pig"

As part of Nike’s expansive “Year of the Pig” collection, the Swoosh is debuting a lavishly detailed Air Max 98. Possibly the most extravagant of the bunch, this take on the 98 blends snakeskin, patent leather, fur, nubuck and traditional Chinese artwork across the upper, with an understated white midsole and black outsole helping to balance the busy design. Compared to the 98, the pack’s Air Max 95 is almost minimalist.

Expect the Air Max 98 “Year of the Pig” to release in late January, close to the actual Chinese New Year on February 5.

Most recently, the 98 emerged in a sporty “Summit White/Metallic Silver” makeup
