Nike first unveiled a Chinese New Year shoe yesterday with the Air Vapormax 2019 and now the brand has showcased the full line it created for the Year of the Pig. Using Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse silhouettes, Nike has looked to a Chinese patchwork technique called Bai Jia Yi for inspiration.
The sportswear giant used the technique in two different ways, the first being a geometric quilt pattern influenced by all 12 Chinese Zodiac symbols and the second is a mosaic pattern of the 12 symbols. The shoes used in the collection are the KYRIE 5, Zoom Pegasus Turbo, Air Max 98, Air Force 1, Air Max 1, Converse Chuck Taylor High, Air Jordan 12, Air Vapormax 2019 and the Blazer Low.
Nike’s Chinese New Year collection will be released throughout January.
In other news, there’s a closer look at the next Nike SB Pigeon Dunk.
