While the Western world is still celebrating the holiday season, Nike has already started to release bits of news for upcoming Chinese New Year colorways. Working off the Nike Blazer Low silhouette, the “Quilt” colorway sees a number of auspicious details synonymous with the Chinese culture.

In the Swoosh and Nike heel portions, we see a patchwork design of various patterns and triangular shapes, all reminiscent to the patchwork styles that are found in traditional Chinese quilts and robes. Elsewhere, gold embroidery along with a golden overlay finish off the Blazer low; the use of gold and red all point to one thing — good fortune for 2019. All the colorful details sit atop premium white-leather uppers. From the top-down view, you can also see that the quilted theme continues onto the insole.

It is still too early for an exact release date, but you can expect these to release closer to CNY February 2019, and for a price that’s similar to past QS Nike Blazer Lows (approximately $110 USD).

In other footwear news, Nike is aiming to make “cheaper” shoes in 2019.
