Maison Margiela's Replica Trainers Receive an Iridescent Overhaul
Shimmering goodness.

Maison Margiela has returned to its signature Replica trainers with a new iridescent patent-leather makeover.
The 1970s-inspired sneakers are based on the German Army Trainers, also known as GAT, which have become quite an iconic silhouette after brothers Adi and Rudolf Dassler, respective founders of adidas and PUMA, designed the sneakers for military use. The Parisian fashion house took note of the design and began employing their own premium twist to the sneaker in the early 2000s.
Following a string of recently-released iridescent-laced footwear, such as last year’s Retro Fit Low Sneaker, the brand has now made an updated rendition of the Replica trainers. Donning a black outsole, the iridescent patent-leather uppers are met with a black leather insole and matching laces.
If you’re keen on purchasing a pair, they are available for $570 USD via MATCHESFASHION’s web store.
