Conway the Machine Shares Gritty New Video for "Fentanyl"
His latest project’s hard-hitting opener.
From Westside Gunn’s incredible Supreme Blientele LP to Benny the Butcher’s very solid Tana Talk 3 project, it’s pretty easy to recognize the Griselda Records movement’s impressive impact on the quality of hip-hop in 2018. For his own contributions, Conway the Machine cooked up several hard-hitting, gritty and grimy releases, including last month’s Everything Is F.O.O.D. 2: Eat What U Kill. Jump-starting his 2019 reign, the New York lyricist swiftly follows up the December 2018 debut of the aforementioned full-length by revisiting it for his latest visual — a video in support of the Graymatter-produced Everything Is F.O.O.D. 2: Eat What U Kill opener “Fentanyl.”
“Push the Rover, I got it off the shit I cook with soda / I got in this rap game and I took it over / Check the stats homie, look it over,” Conway spits. “City put on my shoulders / Yeah, right on top where the bullet hole was / 2000 for the boy slippers / Yeah, Le Chemin Du Roi sippers, no fentanyl, boy flippers / Tanks in the wall got the Koi fishes.”
