Boris Bidjan Saberi Delivers Avant-Garde Samurai FW19
A Japanese influence pervades the hand-dyed layers.

Boris Bidjan Saberi is no stranger to Eastern influences, often incorporating collarless jackets and jinbei-like suits in his seasonal offerings. For Fall/Winter 2019, however, the designer takes a Japanese influence quite a bit further, with kimono-like outerwear appearing throughout the range. Lightweight wrapped white overshirts — complete with leather obi belt-style accessory — and sleek sleeveless coats are prevalent, with hand-dyed finishes adding a unique finish to each item. Sporty parkas, knee-length shorts, flat-brim caps and more collaborative Salomon running shoes add an athletic touch to the proceedings, while bulbous cocoon-like knitwear and enormous hairy gilets underline the avant-garde motif.
