Stray Rats Reimagines New Balance’s Signature 990v3 Model

It appears as though New Balance’s 990v3 is getting reworked once again at the hands of another noted lifestyle label. Earlier this spring, Aries reimagined the statement runner, adding subtle splashes of black, red and yellow onto a light grey base — stylistically setting the stage for another multicolored rendition, this time from Miami’s own Stray Rats.
An upper with what looks to be nubuck mixed with engineered mesh spotlights a tricolored palette consisting of green along the side area and eyestay with purple landing on the heel and vamp, while black fills in the blanks elsewhere. The shoe is then finished off with the silhouette’s signature Encap sole unit. Priced at $190 USD, you can look for this new 990v3 via Stray Rats’ online shop starting September 26.
