Nike's Cortez Model Is Reimagined in Flyleather
Focusing on sustainability.

Remaining largely the same since its original release in 1972, the Nike Cortez recently received a brand new women’s exclusive sustainability-focused makeover.
Part of the kickoff of the sportswear brand’s Flyleather initiative, the latest take on the classic model is constructed of the Nike-developed hybrid material made up of at least 50 percent leather fiber. The Flyleather construction makes the shoe lighter and more durable and each updated shoe has a lower carbon footprint to boot. Continuing the eco-friendly design found on the upper, the liner, laces, and labeling on the shoe is also made up of 100 percent recycled material. The white and grey take also maintains the iconic look of the model with a speckled ridged sole unit.
Priced at $90 USD, the Cortez Flyleather is set to release via Nike SNKRS on September 14.
