DJ Premier Becomes First DJ With Own NPR Tiny Desk Concert
Featuring tracks from KRS-One and Nas.
DJ Premier has become the latest musician to perform an NPR Tiny Desk concert, with his appearance being particularly notable as it marks the first time a DJ has taken on a solo performance as part of the long running series. The producer teamed up with his touring band, The Badder Band, who added some live instrumentation to the set. The performance uses several well known Premier productions, including songs by KRS-One, Nas, Royce Da 5’9” and the group he was previously a part of, Gang Starr. See below for the full setlist and listen to the performance for yourself above.
KRS-One — “KRS-One Attacks”
KRS-One – “MC’s Act Like They Don’t Know”
Das EFX — “Real Hip-Hop”
Nas — “Nas Is Like”
Jeru The Damaja — “Da Bichez”
Gang Starr — “Step In the Arena”
Gang Starr Feat. M.O.P. — “1/2 & 1/2″
