mfpen Goes Business Casual for Its 2018 Spring/Summer Collection

“If you’re gonna do it, do it right. If you’re gonna hype it, hype it with the facts.”

Danish label mfpen recently showed its 2018 spring/summer collection –titled “Clarity Is As Difficult As Ever” — during Copenhagen fashion week, taking on the central and timely inspiration of the classic film All The President’s Men, starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman as the two journalists whose work led to the downfall and impeachment of Richard Nixon.

The inspiration sees itself played out in both literal and more subtle terms, with the general collection using business-inspired silhouettes such as casual suits and banker-stripe shirts as well as polo shirts with — in a slightly less nuanced reference — an image of Redford adorning the bottom left. The rest of the collection consists of the brand’s standard loose-fitting trouser silhouettes, which provide a welcome alternative to the world of slimmer trousers seen elsewhere.

If mfpen piques you’re interest, and while we’re talking Copenhagen Fashion Week, take a look at the rest of what went down this year.
