Watch as a Tesla Model X Destroys a Lamborghini Aventador in a Quarter Mile Race
Absolutely ludicrous.
Earlier this summer, Tesla’s Model X was named the safest SUV of all time – cranking out perfect scores in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s crash-testing program. What most people don’t know is that the Model X P100D eats ultra-expensive sports cars for breakfast. Case and point as shown in the video above.
With Palm Beach International Raceway set as the race track, the Tesla car lines up next to a monstrous V12 Lamborghini Aventador and the results will surely shock and awe. While the Lambo stumbles out of the gate, the X jumps out to powerful start — finishing smoothly right up until crossing the finish line. Thanks largely to its Ludicrous Mode, the Model X can hit speeds of 60mph in approximately 3.1 seconds. In the span of a quarter mile, the Tesla machine sealed the race with a time of 11.418 seconds — 0.05 seconds faster than the Aventador, while reaching the 118mph barrier.
