The Trailer for Gaspar Noé's Nightmarish A24 Film 'Climax' Has Arrived
A dance rehearsal turned satanic.
The latest film by Gaspar Noé, Climax, takes the hypnotic visuals he and cinematographer Benoît Debie are known for and throws it into a nightmarish dance film. In the trailer above, we see Sofia Boutella (Atomic Blonde) alongside a bunch of dancers get interviewed to participate in a dance troupe.
As the group rehearses in an empty school building, they begin to hallucinate from the spiked sangria they’re drinking and soon fall into maniacal debauchery. As the troupe has their collective meltdown, they begin to lust for one another and the environment turns horrifically violent.
Back in 2015, Gaspar Noé claimed Kanye West stole his visual ideas for “All of the Lights” from his film Enter the Void. Both films shared aspects of bold font, use of Japanese typography, psychedelic coloring and more.
