Willy Chavarria debuted a wide-ranging selection of Spring/Summer 2019 goods at New York Fashion Week. Alongside the recently-teased Hummel collaboration, oversized denim and sportswear informed the collection, with plenty of workwear-influenced gear revised with the brand’s signature slouchy styling. Enormous work shirts, jackets, parkas and zip-up coats appeared throughout, crafted from sturdy cotton twill, nylon and denim and bolstered by Timberland boots to make the NYC influence clear. Graphics include a New York skyline and nods to Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Newport, adding colorful accents to the huge layers. A mesh shirt is one of the more outré layers, while a long-sleeve emblazoned with inverted “AMERICAN” verbiage is a nod to Willy Chavarria’s inclusive ethos, proclaiming the wearer an American regardless of immigration status.

Elsewhere, Self Made introduced its own graphic-heavy, workwear-referencing Spring/Summer 2019 range.
