Following up on an initial reveal, London’s Footpatrol and ASICS now offer a closer look at their anime-inspired GEL-Saga collaboration. This special colorway builds on the heritage of the ASICS GEL-Saga silhouette, which was first launched in 1991 taking cues from the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series.
This Footpatrol x ASICS GEL-Saga sports a white mesh and cream suede upper accented by metallic blue hits at the ASICS branding stripes, heel accent and co-branding on the tongue and heel counter. The mech-inspired color scheme continues to the sole unit, which sees a white midsole, icy outsole and blue ASICS insignia on the side. Last but not least, neon pink touches appear at the lace tips and insole branding.
Retailing for £115 GBP (about $151 USD), this Gundam anime Footpatrol x ASICS GEL-Saga is slated for a first release on July 28 in-store at Footpatrol’s London and Paris locations, both of which will host mecha robot installations. A wider online release is scheduled for August 11 at Footpatrol’s website.
