New Balance to Relaunch Basketball Line With Gordon Hayward as a Potential Ambassador
The Celtics star is still tied to Nike.

Known primarily for its deep running and lifestyle catalog, New Balance will take a stab at entering the highly-competitive hoops market with the relaunch of its basketball division. As reported by ESPN, one of the brand’s first orders of business is to secure a brand ambassador, and they are believed to be targeting Gordon Hayward.
As it currently stands, the Boston Celtics forward, who suffered a gruesome leg injury during the first game of the 2017-18 season, is contractually tied to Nike, however he will soon be able to explore other options once his deal expires this coming August. The promising NBA All-Star has primarily sported Nike Kobe sneakers throughout much of his career and could be looking to procure his very own signature sneaker. It’s also important to note that NB already has links to the Celtics franchise as an active sponsor of the team’s new training facility.
