Converse Tokyo Debuts Mature, Minimalist FW18 Lookbook
Approachably downplayed designs.
Converse Japan‘s clothing imprint, Converse Tokyo, returns with a fresh array of wearable gear. Though FACETASM‘s Hiromichi Ochiai designed a more outré selection under the banner of CONVERSE TOKYO ONE, the brand’s current focus remains approachable and understated, issuing a selection of wardrobe essentials revised with elevated Japanese sensibilities.
Converse branding appears on coaches jackets, hoodies, tees and extended belts, while a selection of relaxed-cut sweaters and coats simply focus on clean lines and weather-appropriate textiles. An earthy fishtail parka subtly elevates the streetwear staple with padding for warmth, stylistically complemented by buffalo check flannel overshirts and relaxed trousers. Womenswear is more adventurous, offering all-over printed skirts and tees, thick cardigans, collarless blazers and fur-trimmed outerwear, with one clever coat sporting zippered pockets and quilting in the shape of Converse’s star logo.
Expect Converse Tokyo’s site to offer the new range shortly. Elsewhere, Converse Japan teased a center zip iteration of the Chuck Taylor.
