Timberland is releasing the seventh installment of Timberland by TOKYO DESIGN COLLECTIVE, the premium line directed by the Tokyo-based TDC team, with a Fall/Winter 2026 collection built around a “TIMELESS HERITAGE” theme. The season leans on the brand’s long-standing material use and timeless colors, translated through a distinctly Japanese lens.
The collection is drawn from Timberland‘s roots in American workwear and outdoor culture, then rebuilt with Japanese craftsmanship and feel. Framed as a Japan-born project that speaks to a global audience, it aims for pieces that balance approachability, functionality and a universality meant to outlast trends.
Fabric is where that thinking gets concrete. The season’s key materials are a yarn-dyed flannel with rich surface character, a corduroy defined by its refined wale, and the premium leather that has long been a Timberland signature. By combining those different materials deliberately, TDC pushes the designs toward a space where classic and modern elements sit together rather than competing. The lineup runs all-gender, spanning outerwear such as the Stratham bomber and a heavier zip jacket, an LS thermal, a TIMBS hoodie, and headwear including a waxed leather-patch cap and a corded hat.
The reinterpretation extends to how the collection is shown. TDC places its Tokyo-made styles within architecture and scenery that read as unmistakably Japanese, capturing the product among contrasting forces of nature and city, stillness and motion. It is a framing meant to express the team’s particular view: heritage seen again through a Japanese sensibility.
That heritage runs deep on the Timberland side. The brand was founded in 1973 in Stratham, New Hampshire, and earned global recognition with the original Yellow Boot, designed for people working in the harsh conditions of New England. Its DNA of functional beauty and steady craftsmanship is exactly what the TDC project reworks for a contemporary, city-facing audience.
The latest Timberland by TOKYO DESIGN COLLECTIVE collection drops August 10 at Timberland Boutique Tokyo in Daikanyama, the Timberland official online store, and directly managed and select authorized retailers nationwide.
