Converse Japan Zips Up the Chuck Taylor Low
Swapping laces for slip-on style.

Converse Japan continues rolling out innovative remakes of its classic designs; following a low-profile sneaker splattered with mismatched patterns, the brand is once again reinvigorating the Chuck Taylor All-Star with a bold new look. Though the silhouette is no stranger to zippers, this new drop showcases a pair of monochrome zippered colorways elevated with elastic gore inserts on either side of the tongue. This grants the sleek model extra accessibility, allowing the wearer to put them on like an ordinary slip-on. Otherwise, the canvas shoes sport minimal detailing, with tonal rubber midsoles and toecaps, blue All-Star branding on the outsole and a black license plate tag on the heel.
Look for the “All-Star 100 Center Zip Slip-On” to hit Converse Japan’s web store in August.
Elsewhere, TheSoloist. recently teamed with Converse for a similarly zippered Chuck Taylor Low.
