Disney & 21st Century Fox Shareholders Agree to $71.3 Billion USD Deal
‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ come home to Marvel.

The Disney x 21st Century Fox merger is finally coming to a close, as the two superpowers have agreed to the $71.3 billion USD merger that will see the highly coveted X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises come to Marvel Studios. This morning, shareholders from each company came together for a meeting that lasted no longer than 15 minutes with a majority of them co-signing with the agreement.
Only one shareholder objected, feeling that Disney is paying too much for Fox‘s assets. The general counsel of 21st Century Fox told Fox shareholders the merger should be completed during the beginning of 2019 and marks the deal as “a transformative transaction that will enable us to unlock significant value for our stockholders.” Although some more regulatory clearances remain to be made, it’s looking like the high profile deal has reached its end.
In other entertainment news, Game of Thrones is set to return for its final season in the beginning half of 2019.
