Uber‘s upcoming patent describes a tech that will detect drunk passengers before they enter a car. The phone will pick up on the angle of how the phone is being held and by the cadence of the customer’s walking to determine the sobriety of the passenger.
The application will be “predicting user state using machine learning,” according to Uber’s patent, which will fill the driver’s in on your condition while driving to the pickup spot. The filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office said this may filter drivers who handle drunk drivers well to pick these passengers up instead of others.
The behavior of the person ordering the ride will be compared to long-term use patterns, which may be used in tandem with its upcoming self-driving cabs.
