On November 2, Apple officially dropped its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report, posting massive financial wins across the board. The tech giant raked in an overall quarterly revenue of $114.5 billion USD, marking a 12 percent increase year over year. Alongside that massive top-line figure, the company cleared a profit of $30.7 billion USD during the quarter. Investors also saw diluted earnings per share hit $2.10 USD, representing a 14 percent year-over-year increase.
The crown jewel of the quarter was the brand’s flagship smartphone division, which pulled in a record $57.58 billion USD in iPhone revenue. That figure reflects a 17 percent jump from the same time last year, a flex made even more impressive given that the company did not release a standard model during its latest product refresh. Instead, the September lineup refresh was strictly limited to the pricier iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models. Securing record sales through a purely top-tier smartphone lineup proves that the brand’s loyalists are willing to absorb premium pricing right as the company navigates a major hardware shift into entirely new product categories like smart home devices. Furthermore, this record-breaking smartphone revenue was achieved entirely without the financial boost of the brand’s first folding phone, the iPhone Duo, as preorder sales for the new foldable device were not included in this earnings report.
Beyond the hardware in customers’ pockets, Apple’s digital ecosystem pays off heavy dividends. The Services division, which encompasses App Store commissions and lucrative subscriptions to platforms like Apple TV and Apple Music, surged to an all-time high of $31.57 billion in revenue. On the computing side, the Mac business experienced serious momentum, growing by 24 percent to reach $10.79 billion USD in revenue. However, the momentum was not entirely across the board, as iPad sales took a hit, dropping 10 percent year over year to generate $6.23 billion USD in revenue.
The record-setting quarter arrived alongside some heavy operational maneuvering behind the scenes, as Apple navigated major supply chain constraints and rising memory costs. To counter these market forces, the company raised prices across its older models and other products. According to Apple CEO John Ternus, the higher memory costs experienced during the quarter were partially offset by the strategic benefit of carrying inventory, alongside lower costs on non-memory components. These maneuvers helped the company maintain a gross margin of 47.9 percent for the quarter. Additionally, tariff refunds provided a favorable operational impact, which boosted that gross margin by approximately 1 percentage point and added $0.05 USD to the final earnings per share.
