Lucy Sparrow to Debut 31,000-Piece "Fully-Felted" Grocery Store in LA

Each handmade item is for sale.

Lucy Sparrow is a British artist who deals entirely with felt. Her handmade creations recently appeared in New York as a “fauxdega,” with thousands of handsewn, stitched and painted snacks available for sale. Sparrow has announced plans to take her felt food stateside once again, with an installation in Los Angeles coming later this summer. The 31,000 unique items will all be available for sale, with Sparrow Mart staff on hand to serve up goods ranging from toiletries and food to VHS tapes. Take a look at some of Sparrow’s creations below.

Sparrow Mart will be open at The Standard Los Angeles from August 1 to 31.

Elsewhere in the art world, Sebastian Errazuriz debuted appropriated classical art as part of his Functional Sculptures.
