The newest trailer for Amy Adams‘ 8-part limited series Sharp Objects has arrived and delves more into her character’s clouded past. Based on the book of the same name from Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, the series follows Adams’ Camille Preaker, a mentally unstable reporter trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past.

As she looks into the murders of two preteen girls, she begins identifying with the victims much too closely. We also get a glimpse of her family life, which is less than stellar. Check out the trailer above and catch the series when it debuts on HBO on July 8.

In related news, Solo: A Star Wars Story will be the first Star Wars film to lose money.
