Kardashian didn’t get to hear “Wouldn’t Leave” until last minute.
The Kardashian clan has yet to offer a public reaction to Kanye West‘s recent ye, but Kim Kardashian recently opened up on the red carpet for the 2018 CFDA Awards, where she picked up the “Influencer Award.” In a brief interview, Kardashian explained her take on “Wouldn’t Leave,” one of the songs that most clearly addresses West and Kardashian’s political disagreements. One line talks of Kanye West making that controversial “Slavery is a choice” comment and is then followed by the lyrics below:
“My wife callin’, screamin’, say, ‘We ’bout to lose it all!’ / Had to calm her down ’cause she couldn’t breathe / Told her she could leave me now, but she wouldn’t leave,”
“That was the one song that he didn’t really play for me until the last minute,” Kardashian noted. Still, she likes the song: “It meant a lot to me,” she said. “We have different views sometimes, we have different things, but that’s my husband, you know?” She also touched on the album’s hurried revision: “I left to go home for like two days and I come back and it was a whole new album. It’s fascinating to see the process.” West reportedly reworked the entire album following his inflammatory remarks about slavery.
In other ye news, it has apparently been confirmed that Drake wrote the hook to “Yikes.”
