Gucci Mane Goes Platinum for the Very First Time
Thanks to “Both.”
After over a decade of music, Atlanta icon Gucci Mane has finally scored a platinum plaque. While singles such as his breakout hit “So Icey,” “Spotlight” and “Wasted” have catapulted Guwop in the past, the 37-year-old has yet to produce an official platinum record until now. The Trap God’s first platinum plaque comes courtesy of “Both,” a Drake-assisted single that first appeared on last year’s East Atlanta Santa project. “Both” recently had new life injected into it thanks to a fresh remix from Lil Wayne, who served up his own take on the song a couple months ago. At the present time, a collaborative project from the original “Both” rappers is still in the works.
Continuing his streak of success, Gucci Mane began the month with a new video for “Bucket List.” Last month, Guwop also linked up with Fifth Harmony for another high-profile single and dropped his joint project with Metro Boomin, Drop Top Wop.
